Recipe Roundup- Our Favourite Recipes from August
September 13, 2012
What do a Havarti-dill dip, jalapeno-garlic pizza, cheesy spinach dip, quinoa patties, and a baked mac n cheese all have in common?
They are all dairy free, have caused some serious cravings for the Daiya team, and are part of this month’s recipe roundup!
It is always tough for us to pick just a few recipes as our favourites but the criteria are simple. All we need to see is a food photo that makes us go "Must try that!"
Here are our favourites from last month (in no particular order). Prepare to be hungry...
1. Vegan Havarti Dill Dip from Raw Spectacle.
Made with the Daiya Jalapeno-Garlic Havarti style wedge, vegan mayo, and spices, this simple recipe is sure to be a crowd-pleaser for both vegans and non-vegans alike. If you decide to make this at home, be prepared for the question "Are you sure this is vegan?"
2. Spinach Dip from Tony Lantz.
Another dip recipe that is perfect for any potluck or party! And just in case gluten isn't your thing, Tony also gives some suggestions on how you can make it gluten-free. This dip is made with Daiya Mozzarella style shreds, beer, veggies, and herbs, all served in an optional bread bowl. We posted this recipe on the Daiya Facebook page and we can safely say that it is a fan favourite!
3. Baked Macaroni and Cheese from Quiche-a-Week.
This recipe had us intrigued right from the beginning. It is made with the Daiya Cheddar style shreds, pistachios, sweet potato, and various spices. In her post, Molly tells us to "make it rain fake cheesey goodness!" Sounds good to us!
4. Jalapeno Garlic Havarti Pizza from Vegan Miam.
Yes, Rika from Vegan Miam makes it into our recipe roundup yet again. She just knows how to keep tempting us with her beautiful, colourful pizzas. This bad boy is made with the Daiya Jalapeno Garlic Havarti style wedge, green peppers, and red onions, all on a gluten-free crust.
5. Creamy Daiya Quinoa Patties from Madison Conlin.
These patties are made with Daiya mozzarella style shreds, quinoa, onion, and spinach so they are both healthy and yummy! Can't go wrong with that combo.
And there you have it: our fave recipes in the blogosphere from last month. If you would like to have your creation featured in our Recipe Roundup, don't forget to send us a link to your blog. We look forward to seeing all the yumminess that you genius bloggers have in store for us next month!
