Many consider Halloween to be the official start of the end-of-year holiday season – and as such, it’s a day filled with themed decorations, gifts and snacks. And since we believe that every child (and adult) deserves to get in on such wonderful fun, we’ve compiled a great list of recipes that everyone can enjoy. Behold, the cutest plant-based Halloween treats! (Each can also be made allergy-friendly, as well.)
Halloween Sweet Potato Fries, from Tablespoon
Super-simple to make and seriously adorable, these jack-o’-lantern-shaped sweet potato fries are a must on Halloween. They can be made either sweet or savory, and both ways are delicious.
Monster Halloween Candy Bark, from Fork & Beans
Sure, you could place a bowl of allergy-friendly candy on the table for holiday snacking – but why not take things a step further and combine those candies to make an incredible Halloween treat?
Chocolate Pumpkin Cups, from The Glowing Fridge (pictured)
Chocolate, pumpkin and nut (or seed) butter come together to create the ultimate Halloween treat, which also features the seasonal flavors of maple syrup and cinnamon.
Vegan Candy Corn, from Free People Blog
What’s Halloween without candy corn, right? The requisite yellow-and-orange candies get a gluten-free, plant-based makeover with this recipe, which is nearly as fun to make as it is to enjoy.
Soft & Chewy Chocolate Halloween Cookies, from Nutritionist in the Kitch
These cookies may look and taste indulgent, but they’re actually packed with nutritious ingredients (just don’t tell the kids!) Black beans and nut (or seed) butter provide tons of plant-based protein, while orange candies add a splash of fun color.
Dark Chocolate Covered Pretzel Screams, from Fork & Beans
With just a few ingredients and a bit of time, you can create an unforgettable holiday treat that your guests will rave about for weeks to come. These cute “screams” are certainly eye-catching, and they strike that magical salty-sweet balance that we all love in a chocolate-covered pretzel.
