Yes, Daiya’s Foodservice product portfolio is free of top allergens – all products in our Foodservice portfolio are Dairy-Free, certified Gluten Free, Certified Plant-Based, and non-GMO Project Verified.
The US Food and Drug Administration considers coconut as a “tree nut” allergen and therefore requires that it be declared on the ingredient label. All Daiya products that contain coconut ingredients (except coconut oil) have a “contains: coconut” statement on the packaging to comply with this regulation.
Please note however that according to the Food Allergen Labeling and Consumer Protection Act of 2004 (FALCPA), highly refined oils (i.e. RBD) derived from an allergen are NOT considered a major food allergen.
The coconut oil used in all Daiya products is Refined, Bleach and Deodorized. Therefore, the Daiya products that contain only coconut oil are considered allergen-free.
