Chili Taco Hot Dogs

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup white onion, finely diced
  • 2 tbsp garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp olive oil
  • 1 package organic taco seasoning
  • 1 tsp chili in adobo sauce, chopped
  • 1 can mixed beans, rinsed and drained
  • 2/3 cup black beans, rinsed and drained
  • 1/2 cup vegetable broth
  • 1 cup tomato passata
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • 4 gluten-free sausage buns
  • 4 plant-based sausages
  • Toppings
  • 1 Daiya Feta Style Block, crumbled
  • iceberg lettuce, washed and shredded
  • Fresh salsa for serving
  • Pre-made guacamole
  • white onion, finely diced
  • green onion, chopped
  • fresh jalapeño, sliced
  • fresh cilantro leaves, chopped

Instructions

In a medium size pot over medium heat, sauté onion and garlic in olive oil for 2 minutes. Stir in taco seasoning, chili, beans, vegetable broth and passata.

Reduce heat to medium low and simmer with the lid off for 25 minutes. Season with salt and pepper.

Grill sausages according to package instructions and toast buns. Place one cooked sausage into a bun and spoon desired amount of chili over sausage.

Dress up your vegan chili dogs and finish them off with Daiya's fabulous Feta Block crumbles!
