Finance

Accounts Payable (AP) Assistant

The Accounts Payable (AP) Assistant is responsible for providing financial and administrative support in order to ensure effective, efficient and accurate financial and administrative operations.
The AP Assistant reports to the General Accountant and is responsible for providing financial, administrative and clerical services. This includes processing and monitoring payments and expenditures. Providing these services in an effective and efficient manner will ensure that finances are accurate and up to date, that staff are paid in a timely and appropriate manner and that vendors and suppliers are paid within established time limits are important functions for this team member. This role will complete payments and controls expenses by receiving, processing, verifying, and reconciling invoices and works closely with the AP Associates in a collaborative manner.

Business Systems Analyst

Reporting to the Business Systems and IT Manager, our Business Systems Analyst is a highly detailed-oriented individual who enjoys a variety of challenges for a fast-growing company. This role is responsible for analyzing and documenting business and system processes, use cases and testing scenarios, maintaining company wide SOP’s and version control, designing and developing reports in Power BI and using tools such as Microsoft Flow and SharePoint to automate systems. The Analyst will also be responsible for system administrations duties for all business systems

Controller

Reporting to the Chief Finance Officer (CFO), our Controller is responsible for the accurate and timely provision of monthly financial statements and management reports; the development and analyses of the annual budget and quarterly forecasts; the maintenance of accurate costing data; the reporting of key performance metrics; and the completion of ad hoc analysis projects that arise from time to time.

The Controller supervises the Accounting team and is responsible for managing the team to ensure that work is efficiently allocated and completed in a timely and accurate manner.

Our Controller demonstrates strong leadership skills and will act as a key support and backup for the Chief Finance Officer (CFO). Other key attributes are financial management experience in the food manufacturing industry (preferred) along with strong analytical and interpersonal skills.

IT Support Analyst

Reporting to the Business Systems and IT Manager, our IT Support Analyst is a customer-service oriented individual to provide business and technology support to our team members through phone, email, and in-person assistance. This is a varied role responsible for managing the support desk and supporting all business systems, including but not exclusive to SYSPRO, Office 365, Salesforce, Microsoft CRM, Planet Press, Bar Tender and SharePoint.

Human Resources

Human Resources Manager - Recruitment

Our HR Manager – Recruitment works closely with the Chief Human Resources Officer (CHRO) to lead the areas of recruiting and retention, people management, and support HR program implementation. This important leadership role supports Human Resources practices and objectives for a high performance culture that emphasizes health and safety, development of HR tools to assist productivity, and the recruitment and ongoing development of our talented team members. Our HR Manager – Recruitment ensures efficient implementation of services, policies, and programs and assists and advises company managers and supervisors about Human Resources issues. Provides leadership to HR team along with the HR Manager – Employee Relations and Systems and may act on behalf of CHRO in her absence.

Operations

Industrial Electrician

The Red Seal Certified Journeyman Electrician must possess fundamental and specialized knowledge and skills related to the installation and maintenance of electrical devices and components found in industrial settings. The Industrial Electrician inspects, installs, troubleshoots, repairs and services (includes calibration and preventive/predictive maintenance) electrical equipment such as motors, generators, pumps, heavy duty machines, environmental regulating systems, communication systems; and associated electrical and electronic controls for food production.

The Industrial Electrician is also responsible for working together with the rest of the maintenance team to complete Work Orders and follow a Preventive Maintenance Program. This position may require shift hours.

Industrial Millwright

The Journeyman Industrial Millwright must possess fundamental and specialized knowledge and skills related to troubleshooting and providing preventative and corrective maintenance support to production lines and facilitating equipment change-over.
The Millwright is responsible for working together with the rest of the maintenance team to complete new projects, work orders and follow a Preventive Maintenance Program. This position requires shiftwork (rotating once a month).

Research and Development

R&D Technologist – NPD

Our R&D Technologist – New Product Development (NPD) leads and supports significant technical components of R&D projects, utilizing strong innovation, product development, and research skills to advance team and department objectives. This team member will work collaboratively and independently to design and execute technical work, from benchtop testing to product commercialization. This role conducts all types of technical work including but not limited to: scientific research, product concept refinement, raw material sourcing, product formulation, benchtop prototype development, experimental design, analytical testing, data analysis and interpretation, scale up testing, co-packer assessment, process optimizing, shelf life testing, sensory testing, stability analysis and product commercialization. May be required to supervise and support other team members in delivering tasks. Our R&D Technologist is responsible for driving company growth through collaborating, innovating, and experimenting to develop creative product and process solutions.

Sr. R&D Technologist, New Product Development

Vice-President of Research & Development

Our Vice-President of Research & Development (R&D) is responsible for developing an R&D center of excellence which will manage the innovation process in collaboration with Marketing to deliver best-in-class plant-based food products. This team is responsible for the innovation and renovation of our products to develop and commercialize new and improved products and processes to make sure all launches are ready for scale up and production. This position leads product ideation, product development and delivery, and product performance and research to ensure products are on trend and will grow the business.

Supply Chain

Buyer

The Buyer is responsible for ordering and maintaining the appropriate stock levels of raw materials (ingredients, packaging, and production supplies) to ensure uninterrupted manufacturing operations at the Vancouver plant as well as at our co-packers. This position supports the Senior Buyers and Manager.

Production Scheduler

The Production Scheduler will be primarily responsible for creating, managing and executing the detailed daily internal plant schedules based on the Master Production Schedule inputs while maximizing resource utilization. This position will require collaboration with cross functional teams such as Operations, QA, Warehouse, R&D, Logistics and Purchasing. The Production Scheduler will help support achievement of Daiya’s customer service level and production efficiency targets while promoting best production practices.
