Daiya Foods is proud to be a leader in deliciously dairy-, gluten- and soy-free foods. We’ve been growing since our founding in 2008, and are now headquartered in beautiful, British Columbia. Finance

Accounts Payable Supervisor

Reporting to the Controller and will be responsible for supervising a team of clerks in a high-volume environment. This role will be responsible for ensuring the accurate, timely and efficient payment of all vendor accounts in accordance with company’s policies and department standards and for troubleshooting day-to-day accounts payable operations. Work closely with General Accountant at month-end to ensure timely and accurate processing
of month end duties including accruing for expenses which could not be entered in the computer system before AP module was closed.

Maintenance

Power Engineer

Our Power Engineer plays an important role on our Maintenance team with troubleshooting and providing preventative and corrective maintenance support to production lines and facilitating equipment change-over. The Power Engineer will operate, maintain and manage the equipment in the plant. The Power Engineer plays a key role in ensuring the facility runs at optimal production levels with minimal downtime. The role works in the areas of: pressurized systems, boilers, thermal engineering, ammonia systems, fluid mechanics, technical and basic instrumentation and industrial electronics. The Power Engineer is responsible for working together with the rest of the Maintenance team to complete new projects, work orders and follow a Preventive Maintenance Program.

Plant Manager

Our Plant Manager provides leadership to the management and supervision of the manufacturing processes, to ensure scheduled production levels are met for each shift and high-level sanitation is complete to meet Food Safety and QA standards. The Plant Manager will work with the Vice President, Operations to research and implement processes that minimize costs and waste while maximizing the highest quality production outputs.
 
The Plant Manager will ensure that the manufacture of products is carried out in accordance with internal and external standards and in compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices, HACCP and SQF requirements along with WorkSafe BC standards.

Production

Production Manager

QA

Quality Control (QC) Technician

The Quality Control Technician ensures that Daiya’s food safety and quality standards are enforced and maintained at all stages of the manufacturing processes through routine quality monitoring, sampling and testing.
 
PM Shift – 3:00pm to 11:30pm, Tuesday to Saturday (flexible to work Monday – Friday)

Sr. R&D Technologist, Product Development

Come join our PD Meals team, which mainly focuses on meals applications such as gluten free pizza, burritos, mac & cheeze, cheeze cake and salad dressings. We are looking for Sr. R&D Technologist with bakery experience to lead and support significant technical components of R&D projects, utilizing strong innovation, product development, and research skills to advance team and department objectives. This role works collaboratively, independently, quickly, and accurately to deliver tasks and sub-projects that advance department and company objectives. Work may include, but is not limited to: product concept refinement, scientific research, raw material sourcing, product formulation, benchtop prototype development, experimental design, analytical testing, data analysis and interpretation, scale up testing, co-packer assessment, process optimizing, shelf life testing, sensory testing, stability analysis and product commercialization. The role may be required to supervise and support other team members in delivering tasks. They are responsible for driving company growth through collaborating, innovating, and experimenting to develop creative product and process solutions.

R&D Lab Supervisor

The R&D Lab Supervisor collaborates with the Advanced Research & Technology (ART) team and the Lab team by leading various capabilities projects, maintaining a high-quality lab space, developing robust analytical methods, and supervising lab team’s daily tasks. This role works independently, quickly, and accurately to deliver tasks and sub-projects, including the creation and maintenance of new scientific tools and protocols. Work may include, but is not limited to: Literature review, equipment and material sourcing, experimental design, analytical testing, data analysis and interpretation, SOP development, and training. They are responsible for driving company growth through collaborating and innovating to develop creative solutions and ensure maintenance of high standard lab and analytical practices. This role will be expected to balance Lab and ART project work.

The Manager, Category Development & Insights is responsible for category, consumer, and shopper insights data to create a clear direction for Daiya categories in the marketplace. As a member of the sales team, this role contributes to driving company sales and profits objectives with a fact-based selling approach that drives DSMP principles and thought leadership into Daiya’s commercialization mandate.

Logistics Manager

Our Logistics Manager leads the development and execution of our transportation and warehousing strategies. This position is responsible for growing our warehousing network, managing carriers and mentoring our Logistics and Customer Service teams.

Warehouse Supervisor

Our Warehouse Supervisor manages Warehouse Associates in the area of Shipping/Receiving and WIP (Work In Process) in accordance with plant policies and procedures to efficient flow of goods into the facility to materials are received in a timely manner to ensure scheduled production levels are met at the highest quality output. Ensure smooth operations in receipt and shipment of materials during shift to eliminate impact on production schedules.

Supervisors will ensure that manufacture of products is carried out in accordance with internal and external standards and in compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices, HACCP and SQF requirements along with Work Safe BC standards.

SHIFT: AM Shift – 6:30am to 3:00pm (Monday to Friday), with occasional OT.

The Production Scheduler will be primarily responsible for creating, managing and executing the detailed daily internal plant schedules based on the Master Production Schedule inputs while maximizing resource utilization. This position will require collaboration with cross functional teams such as Operations, QA, Warehouse, R&D, Logistics and Purchasing.
